The Plečnik Fund visual identity draws inspiration from the architectural legacy of Jože Plečnik, a foundational figure in modern Slovenian architecture. The concept merges key elements of his architectural and humanist expression, reimagining them into a bold, contemporary, and modular visual system. Its aim is to situate Plečnik firmly within the context of the present and future, while underscoring the Fund’s dedication to promoting contemporary architectural practice in Slovenia. At its core lies a monogram logo composed of two iconic Plečnik motifs - an abstracted column and arch. Together, they form the letters P and J, subtly referencing Plečnik’s identity, while also creating the letter S, which stands for Sklad (the Fund) and Slovenia (the national context of the awards). These geometric shapes combine into a symbolic, floorplan-like composition, referencing urban structures and echoing Plečnik’s holistic architectural vision. The visual language rests on relaxed geometry, refined rhythm, and a carefully curated color palette inspired by natural building materials (stone, brick, wood, metal) and their architectural surroundings (earth, nature, sky). Supporting graphic elements derived from the logo act as modular building blocks - flexible, abstract forms adaptable to diverse applications, all while narrating a story of space and urban transformation.
