E-Parking Trg Republike occupies a storied place in Ljubljana’s urban fabric as the city’s oldest underground garage, ideally situated between the Slovenian Parliament and the NLB Bank tower. This unique context called for a visual identity and wayfinding strategy that would both celebrate its prime location and honor the legacy of Edvard Ravnikar, Slovenia’s master of modernist architecture. Our approach began with the garage’s public face: each entrance was reimagined with stylized façades that echo the architectural language of Ravnikar’s nearby works. These abstracted motifs serve as both a visual tribute and a clear marker, guiding users intuitively toward the garage’s portals while reinforcing its connection to the surrounding civic landmarks. Within the subterranean levels, the wayfinding system balances clarity and elegance. Signage employs a restrained palette and typography inspired by Ravnikar’s own graphic work, ensuring legibility even in dimly lit conditions. Subtle color accents denote circulation paths, while strategically placed lighting and iconography foster a sense of positivity and confidence at each decision point. The result is a cohesive identity that transforms a utilitarian space into a seamless extension of Ljubljana’s architectural heritage. Visitors navigate with ease and appreciation, experiencing the garage not merely as infrastructure but as a thoughtfully designed public realm. Client: Artos Group d.o.o.
